Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information Remotie collects while placing verified candidates in remote AI training roles, how it's used, and who it's shared with. It will be revised as the platform evolves — check back periodically.
Information We Collect
Remotie places verified candidates in remote AI training roles — real recruiters and admins manage your applications on your behalf, which means we collect more than a typical job board. Depending on how far you've progressed through onboarding and your application pipeline, we collect:
- Identity verification documents and data. As part of onboarding, and again whenever a specific application requires re-verification, we collect identity documents and related data. These submissions are reviewed by a human member of our team — not by an automated scoring system.
- Profile and resume data. Work history, skills, and other information you provide to build your candidate profile.
- Skills submissions. Responses to skills exercises you complete. These are stored as part of your record but are never algorithmically scored — submitting completes the step regardless of content.
- Application and pipeline status data. Which roles you've been placed against, what stage each application is at, and the history of that progress.
- Payout wallet data. Available balance, pending withdrawal balance, and transaction history associated with your Remotie wallet.
- Usage and device data. Standard technical data such as browser type, device information, and how you interact with our site and dashboard.
How We Use Information
We use the information above to run the placement service itself: to verify your identity before an application can advance, to match you with roles and hand your application to the recruiter managing your account, to keep your dashboard and wallet accurate and up to date, to communicate with you about application and payout status, and to maintain the security and integrity of the platform. We do not use your data to train third-party advertising profiles, and we do not sell it.
How Information Is Shared
Because Remotie places candidates directly with third-party hiring partner organizations — including companies such as Upwork, LinkedIn, Outlier, Handshake, RWS, and OneForma — relevant application data is shared with the specific partner you're being placed with as part of that placement process. What's shared is limited to what that placement reasonably requires.
Internally, access to your data is scoped. Recruiters and admins are Remotie staff — accounts are never self-service — and a recruiter's default access is limited to candidates assigned to them. Additional access, such as reviewing identity verification documents, reviewing skills submissions, or managing withdrawal requests, is granted per staff member on top of that default scope, not extended to every recruiter automatically.
We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose information where required by law, to protect the rights and safety of our users and platform, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to standard confidentiality expectations.
Data Security
We apply reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information, including access controls that scope staff visibility to only the data their role and permissions require. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security, but we work to keep sensitive data — particularly identity verification documents and wallet records — protected against unauthorized access.
Your Rights & Choices
Depending on applicable law in your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, or to receive a copy of your data in a portable format. You can update most profile information directly from your dashboard; for identity verification, wallet, or other records handled by our staff, contact us using the details below and we'll respond in accordance with applicable law.
Notifications
As part of keeping your application moving, we send notifications about status changes — including identity verification requests, pipeline stage updates, and payout activity — by email and, if you connect a Telegram account, via our Telegram bot. Notification routing is hierarchical: your recruiter's bot only receives events tied to their own assigned candidates, and an internal admin channel mirrors activity platform-wide for oversight. You can manage which notification channels you use through your account settings.
Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward to satisfy legal, accounting, dispute-resolution, and record-keeping obligations — for example, wallet and transaction history is generally retained longer than routine profile data, given its role as a financial ledger. When information is no longer needed for these purposes, we take steps to delete or anonymize it.
Children's Privacy
Remotie is intended for individuals who are of legal working age and is not directed to or intended for use by anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can address it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as our platform and practices evolve. When we make material changes, we'll take reasonable steps to notify you, such as an in-dashboard notice or an email. Continued use of Remotie after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
